Polyacrylamide

Market Access Requirements Tanzania

How to Use This Report

This report is built to be read in the order the actual export process happens, not as a list of disconnected requirements. Section 2 shows you the sequence end to end. Section 3 tells you, for each requirement, whether it's something you arrange as the exporter or something your importer arranges. Sections 4 onward go into the technical detail: standards, testing, labelling, costs, and the mistakes that most commonly cause delays or rejections.

Two roles, one shipment

  • Exporter: Country of origin-side certification, testing, PVoC/CoC, shipping documents.
  • Importer (your Tanzania-based buyer or their agent): Permits, port-side inspection, customs clearance, market authorization.
  • Where a step is genuinely shared, it's marked accordingly. If you don't yet have a confirmed importer of record in Tanzania, treat that as your first open item. Please note, several steps in Section 3 cannot start without one.

Compliance Sequence - Start to Finish

Polyacrylamide is regulated in Tanzania on two separate tracks that run in parallel: TBS's PVoC/CoC process (product quality and safety against TZS 1410:2011) and GCLA's industrial chemical import permit (regulatory control of the chemical itself). Both must be in place before the shipment reaches port; missing either one independently blocks clearance.
